"Baby, It's Cold Outside"

The wind chill was -2 degrees F!

When I stepped outside to walk to The Cat Car, Patty O'Malley gave me a very nice send-off:

Every photo is blurry!  That's because it was TOO COLD OUT to do anything slowly; he and I petted each other, and I dove into The Cat Car to get the engine started for some HEAT!  I begged Patty to go with me, but he chose to stay behind and finish off the kibble before it turned white with frost and cold.  You can see the rising sun, coloring Patty's fur with shades of orange.  Yay, sunshine!  Boo, cold and frozen!

Magoo Sends A Present

Pretty!

I received a package from my darling sister, with whom I'd visited recently. Magoo, the cat that loves my BIL but also loves ME, sent me a lovely pair of cat earrings!  I know my sister addressed the package, but Magoo and I KNOW we have a 'thing'.

My handsome!
Until we meet again, darling Magoo! 😻😻😻
Thank you for the lovely earrings!

All We Need Is Love: International Day of Peace 2016

"Question"
1970, by The Moody Blues

Why do we never get an answer
When we're knocking at the door
With a thousand million questions
About hate and death and war?

'cause when we stop and look around us
There is nothing that we need.
In a world of persecution that is burning in its greed.

Why do we never get an answer
When we're knocking at the door?
Because the truth is hard to swallow
That's what the war of love is for.

It's not the way that you say it
When you do those things to me.
It's more the way that you mean it
When you tell me what will be.

And when you stop and think about it
You won't believe it's true.
That all the love you've been giving
Has all been meant for you.

I'm looking for someone to change my life.
I'm looking for a miracle in my life.
And if you could see what it's done to me
To lose the love I knew
Could safely lead me through.

Between the silence of the mountains
And the crashing of the sea
There lies a land I once lived in
And she's waiting there for me.

But in the grey of the morning
My mind becomes confused
Between the dead and the sleeping
And the road that I must choose.

I'm looking for someone to change my life.
I'm looking for a miracle in my life.
And if you could see what it's done to me
To lose the love I knew
Could safely lead me to
The land that I once knew.
To learn as we grow old
The secrets of our souls.

It's not the way that you say it
When you do those things to me.
It's more the way you really mean it
When you tell me what will be.

Why do we never get an answer
When we're knocking at the door
With a thousand million questions
About hate and death and war?

When we stop and look around us
There is nothing that we need.
In a world of persecution that is burning in its greed.

This song was written during the Vietnam War, by a British rock band after touring in the United States.  I mention it today, the International Day of Peace, because every day, the feeling of LOVE for each other and everything on this planet needs to be expressed.  Surely, when bad things happen, like terrorism, we humans cannot understand the evil, and become hurt and dangerous.  Having the love of a cat...or if you are lucky, many cats!...can seriously improve one's outlook.

I held a purring Angel to my chest this morning, and her love and warmth just melted the knot of frustration that was building in me before commuting to work (which seems like a battle, let me tell you!)  So therefore, I say unto you...Get a Cat, and Know Peace!

Tiger Tuesday

When a tabby cat showed up on our deck in late 2013, The Hubby called him "Tiger".  I went along with that for only a short while, because Patty's true personality blossomed with regular feedings and a place to sleep. We trapped him and transported him to a low-cost spay and neuter clinic on the first day of Spring 2014, and I listed his name on the paperwork as "Patrick O'Malley".  He is a very special kitty, even though he really doesn't want to be inside.  The Hubby now calls him Patty From The Alley, or Patus O'Mallus.  I call him every loving and nonsensical name I can, as he's my special kitty.

Patty Is Jeeping Me!

Patty O'Malley has decided that having one human dote on him is just not enough!  So, he's turned his sights on winning The Hubby over.  Look at him...shamelessly sticking his nose into The Hubby's armpit, and rubbing himself...ALL OVER THE HUBBY!  I thought I was your special person, Patty!

An Ordinary Cat Can Make Life Extraordinary!

Looky at the coffee mug that I found while shopping resale on my lunch break.

However, I must say: THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS AN ORDINARY CAT!

Every cat is an individual, and therefore is as perfect as he or she can be.  I love every cat I meet, and never tire from talking about cats, listening to happy stories about cats, or viewing photos or live images OF CATS!  I fight for the rights of cats, for the rights of people to TNR cats, for the end of declawing cats.  I have ended friendships over one or all of the above, and will coo at, pet, or play blinky-eyes with any kitty that I come across.  When I find someone who thinks like me, they are my instant friend, which is why I love my kitty blogosphere community!

“When a man loves cats, I am his friend and comrade, without
further introduction.”
Mark Twain
