Getting Schooled

It's Twozday!

My new iPhone's camera is NOT AS GOOD as my older model.
Blurry
Pixelated
Washed out!
Now, it could be the operator not knowing how to use new settings, however I know that I've deleted more images since the phone switch than before it.

Time to find an iPhone camera class.

Decade

Due to upcoming events, we'll be posting our usual posts out of order this week.

It's PO'Monday...on Sunday.

April, 2014; can you believe it was a decade ago?!?
Celestial Paddy O'Malley was a terrific subject for photos.

His coloring was easy for the iPhone camera settings to capture without too much fuss.

My Fancy

Taken in early February, 2020, I was so happy to be out in the sunshine, and for the snow to have melted away.

So I snapped some arty shots in the backyard:
Moss
A bit of snow on bricks
Barn siding
My ❤️ Cat

Will always be grateful for my phone, and the camera that comes with.

While I rarely call anyone anymore, as texting, messaging, and sharing memes on FB take the place of actually talking to someone, the phone holds so much of myself in the photo cache and calendar.

Can indulge myself with capturing items that take my fancy.

In The Frame

29 June was National Camera Day.

We owned no camera whe Celestial Angel and Chuck came into our lives, therefore I borrowed the office digital camera, with floppy disks.

This is what that office camera looked like...
...taking one of our first images of Angel, on 30 August, 2004.

Within a few years, we'd purchased a Canon camera, on professional photographer's recommendation.
This is what our old camera looked like...
...and it was passably good at taking photos, of Angel in September, 2006.

For the past decade, I have had a company phone, which is upgraded every two years.
An image of my current iPhone, nabbed from the interwebs...
...from my then iPhone 5, Angel in September, 2015.
I enjoy photography, and strive to take clean, clear images.

It's astounding, however, how often the pic comes out blurred or pixelated; the tiny image on the screen looks so different when on my laptop.

Can take dozens of photos of the same cat, flower, or whatever, hoping one of them is good enough.

Luckily, the duds are easily deleted.

Rotten Photography

It's Twozday!

Snapping cutesy photos of Da Boyz can be a trial.

The camera lens captures something completely different from what my eyes see.

I try different colors, different focus, and snap a dozen photos to pick out one or two that I like.

Here is an example of my poor photography skills:
Used 'mono' setting...
I think the flash went off here...
...and this one is blurred!
If you can see the back feet on one, and front paws on the other, then at least I've conveyed the cuteness of Da Boyz!

If you cannot, then chalk it up to my inability to use my phone's camera talents appropriately.

Or the fact that Michigan in Winter is grey and sunless; when Spring arrives, perhaps better lighting will make all the difference!

HA!

Here's to New Gadgets

 I received a surprise today!

Image from Apple.com website
As my iPhone 8 was on the fritz, the corporate mobile services unit sent a replacement phone, and it's an iPhone XR.  Very nice, and it's camera LIKES taking photos of black cats.

The Hubby saw a Thanksgiving/Christmas sale at a local store, and surprise!...I have AirPods Pro, to go with my new phone.  These will come in handy while walking in the 'hood; no cord dangling and getting caught up on my neck scarf.

Sweetie will go after ANY cord or wire; she attacks my dangling earrings AND the ties on my pajamas...so she always has a field day with my wired earbuds, unless I hide the wires inside of my clothes!  Now, she is thwarted, and I don't have to fear her murder mitts.

I am thankful for my new gadgets, and for my family and friends whom I won't be seeing today.  I wish everyone who is celebrating, to have a Joyous...if cautious...Thanksgiving today, and be careful out there on Friday!

Thank you to my blog readers, and to the blogging community; we may have our ups and downs, but there is a strong bond that warms the heart!

Da Boyz, taken with my new phone.
I didn't have to adjust a thing; the camera had no problem with their shiny black fur.
