Garden Wildlife

The idea was to fill the yard with native plants, so the wildlife could eat it's fill, pollinate their little hearts out, and make babies so the cycle can repeat.
The bees like the Ironweed.

A smallish groundhog pigged out on my Cup Plants and Milkweed.
Don't mind one bit; eat up, lil fella.

Even slugs are welcome!

And then one looks up from the garden, to witness more wildlife!
(My educated guess is that this is Chili Bruce)

Buzzy!

 Our gardens are attracting bees!

Butterfly Weed, with friend.
Milkweed, with bumblebee.
Bee Balm...without bees for now.

Am learning more about the native plants that we've put into our gardens, and delight when we have visitors.

🐝Is this cool or what?!?🐝

Nature

Summertime in our now catless yard:
Wild Geranium
Cinnamon Fern
Mushrooms
Brown-eyed Susan
Swamp Milkweed
The Hubby and I are hedging our bets by leaving The Cat Hotel and feeding station in place, until we see how things progress with Paddy O'Malley.

Interesting to note how often I look outside to get eyes on The PO'M, but he's not there!

Inside, he sits in my lap and allows our usual lovefests, yet he'll dart into hiding as the merest provocation.

We will take things one step at a time.

...and More...

I posted photos of unknown cats that I'd seen...

And then, two more!

Can you see, 'way back?
Here's a close up!
Haven't seen this kitty before.
Now, this kitty is an old friend, however window sightings are rare!
I am considering making a neighborhood map, with notations and locations of every cat that I see!

The Hubby rolls his eyes at this suggestion, but he'll admit that I am an excellent cat-spotter.

Two-zday!

Sitting on the newspaper, so technically, they are NOT on the table!

Bonus image!

The rose milkweed garden in our yard had a Monarch butterfly visit this weekend!  Hope for more butterflies, hummingbirds, or native bees to stop by for sustenance!

In with Old, Out with New, etc...

My very old rug-hooking project returned from my sister's house,
much to Angel's delight!
OLD back IN!

Three boxes of new-to-me, but now old
(because they don't fit!) clothes,
donated to the local women's shelter
NEW/OLD back OUT!

Milkweed pods from our garden.
Cannot wait for the more Monarch butterflies next year!
NEW is NEW!
Seasons change, and what was old is new, what was new is old.  This was the first year that our milkweed plants grow seed pods, and I will scatter the seeds so Eastside Cats has a healthy crop next year.  I have also shared some pods with Rene at It's All About The Cats!

And for you readers who want to see photos of The PO'M...here ya go!  An oldie but a goodie.

Paddy O'Malley
showing off all of his fine features...
green eyes
fangs
goofy expression
raccoon tail
plumb midsection
waving 'em in the air like he just don't care!
