January, 2015

It's PO'Monday!

January 2015 was a very cold, very snowy time.

Always anxious about our 'O' Cats, we'd provided them with an insulated shelter full of straw AND a heaty pad, plenty of fresh water, and lots of kibble, because wet food froze very quickly; too rapid for Sweetie and Celestial Paddy to get their fill of it.

Paddy, despite the challenges, still gave me plenty of lovin'!
The Hubby had created a wind-break out of plexiglas, for The Cat Hotel.
Always hugging my Pommy!
I didn't shovel the driveway or sidewalks; I just shoveled walking paths for The 'O' Cats.
My priorities were purrfect. *wink*

  1. I had to enlarge the last photo to get a better look. At first I thought the cat statue was an outdoor cat who had sat in one place for too long!

  5. What wonderful accommodations for such sweet kitties! Years ago my dad helped me build a wooden shelter for outdoor kitties who would often show up in my yard. In addition to food and water, I'm able to put a heat lamp as well as a non-electric heat bed in the shelter, and we've had our fair share of strays and ferals use it, as well as the friendly neighbor kitty. The indoor kitties love to watch their outdoor friends. And I very much so relate to ignoring the snowy sidewalk and driveway yet shoveling a random path for the outdoor kitties to use. Purrs!

  6. How wonderful that you made these shelters for the outdoor cats. I do worry about them in harsh weather - we had one feral cat we check on regularly and fortunately she was fine through our recent storms in California.

  7. What a great place! I bet if our Mom made one of those, Mr Kozmo would NEVER come inside! (Or it might get inhabited by Raccoons) We love seeing Paddy O! Purrs Marv

  9. What a great place for your o kitties! I was talking to someone recently who bought a heated water bowl for their ferals. The water freezes overnight and this prevents it.

  10. You sure provided four star accommodations for your outdoor kitties!
Years and years ago, we had a kitty that came into our back porch to spend her time in a heated little cocoon we provided for her. That was long before we had any dogs...

  11. They sure appreciated all you did to warm their world. Sometimes we do get snow here and I clear the feral paths too.

  12. Makes me so glad and it fills my heart that you took such loving care, you and your husband, of all the feral cats that came your way.

  13. I tried a small cat-hotel: it met with indifference and disdain! I'm glad you had a different experience.
