"Bees and other pollinators, such as butterflies, bats and hummingbirds, are increasingly under threat from human activities.
Pollination is, however, a fundamental process for the survival of our ecosystems. Nearly 90% of the world’s wild flowering plant species depend, entirely, or at least in part, on animal pollination, along with more than 75% of the world’s food crops and 35% of global agricultural land. Not only do pollinators contribute directly to food security, but they are key to conserving biodiversity." - World Bee Day; United Nations

We have a lot of various pollinators visiting our yard, both the welcome and unwelcome...the unwelcome in the form of the caterpillars and worms that emerge from the eggs their 'parents' placed on tender leaves to later be consumed...I pick them off and put them on the birdfeeder platforms, LOL!! Gotta keep the bird happy, right?
ReplyDeleteLove the kitty-bee!!
Benji tried to snap/catch a bumble bee the other day...NOOOOOO! And the wasp that was nthe house...More NOOOOOO!
I absolutely love being. And when I have a summer that there's hardly any I get really worried. Some years seem better than others. I love black and yellow bumble bees and of course then our regular honey bees.
ReplyDeleteWe make sure the bees are protected here. We love nature and protect it.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous day and week. Scritches to the kitties. ♥
Love that bee with kitty–face!

We love bees and have a lot in our garden, probably because we seldom mow!

Happy World Bee Day!
ReplyDeleteI made a huge sign telling neighbors and passersby that the large hovering ground bees are harmless and important. ~nods~ Bee well! ~giggle~
ReplyDeleteYes, just leave them alone to do their vital work.
ReplyDeleteWe sure love bees, and happy to report we've already seen some honey-bees buzzing around the backyard. We don't always have them, so it's a relief that they are back.
ReplyDeleteYes, they sure bee important to our environment!
ReplyDeleteLet them bee
ReplyDeleteWe love the bees! I wish we could simply let the clover grow all of the time. Alas, the grass must be mowed or the neighbors get tetchy.
