In our neck of the woods...pun intended...today is Arbor Day!
Plant a tree, hug a tree, take a walk in the park on a foresty path.

Trees!!
ReplyDeleteI love them, and try to keep the ones on our property in good shape, and when saplings come up, I let them grow in place. esp the oaks and maples. No walnuts, thank you very much, LOL!
I hate to cut them down, but sometimes for safety reasons it is necessary, like the huge walnut tree that was too close to our house.
I let 'snags' remain, so that squirrels and woodpeckers can enjoy them. the holes that woodpeckers make are amazing!!
Loved you pictures!
What terrific tree pictures, I especially enjoyed the beech tree bark. I lived in this house for 10 years and we had to cut them 15 dead ash trees due to the ash borer. But I have replanted over 30 trees, of course small saplings either started by nut or having bought a few. They'll never be huge in my lifetime but I hope they live through someone else's.
ReplyDeletethe beech from 2017 is AWESOME ‼️‼️‼️😺
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots!
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed all of these shots. Glad you posted them.
ReplyDeleteEspecially those beech trees are majestic as they hold onto their old leaves the longest and then have gorgeous new ones.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Mariette + Kitties
Those trees are lovely, and I agree the beech has lovely bark.
ReplyDeleteMy hubby just planted a black walnut tree a few days ago.
ReplyDeleteWe have lots of rootys in our yard!
ReplyDeleteNothing beats a grand tree.
ReplyDeleteI love trees, and could live in the woods all year round.
ReplyDeleteThese are delightful!
ReplyDeleteI have to return to my trees. Yes, I really do, I will think of it this way from now on, although I would be hopeless at pronouncing the Welsh.
