No More!

Cats have four paws, and 18 nails, hence April 18 is International No-Declaw Day.

There is no reason that this surgery should still be legitimate ANYWHERE in the WORLD.

I've fired all of my previous veterinarians, to choose one that will not perform a declaw.

While legislators work city by city, state by state to make it illegal here in the States, things aren't moving fast enough for some of us, which is why we talk to other cat lovers, chat up folks at the library or grocery store, and educate on why it is against common decency to maim one's cats in favor of furniture.

Grassroots knowledge can be key to saving another cat.

Am thankful for anyone who is fighting this fight.

  1. We raise our paws against de-clawing too🐾 It's hard to imagine that there are still vets who are doing this, and, even worse, that there are people who had this done to their cats🙀I wonder how they would feel when this happened to them...Good Luck Pawkisses with the campaign🐾😽💞

  2. It is an evil practice. Any vet that still does it should be struck off and charged with mutilation. Their job is to keep animals in good health, not cause pain and suffering!

  3. I have never in my entire life approved of declawing a cat. The cruelty is unbelievable. I would much rather have my cat put her rather sharp claws into my legs and arms then to ever do that to her.

  4. Absolutely AGAINST declawing but one never knows how many people remain senseless in this world.

  7. We are thankful for our claws! It hurts every time we hear of someone who believes in declawing.

  8. Declawing is a horrible cruel practice and I could never go to a Vet that would do that. They don't deserve to be a Vet. I did my level best and then some to talk a co-worker out of that with their two kittens the had just gotten. It sickened me. I showed brochures to her..nothing I said or did would work. She was too worried about her household. I said surrender the kittens!!! Don't mutilate and torture them.

  10. I totally agree, that's a disgusting and evil thing to do. We'll be super thankful when it totally stops. Thanks for joining Angel Brian's Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!

  11. It really is frustrating that vets don't have legal bans they can rely on to easily decline declaw procedures to owners who request them. Then the answer isn't "I don't do that" it's "that's not legal here"....and you can't shop for another vet who will do it.

  12. I hate people who declaw. They deserve to have the tops of their fingers removed.

  14. Multiple paws raised. I need to clip some claws, on that note. Poor Polly's wonky 'pollywog' nails snag whenever she follows me downstairs, which is just about every time. :) And her sister Terra likes to grab my hand sometimes - ouch. Our motto is, "Kitties First." And that extends to any being reliant on able adult human care. ~nods~ Best wishes, my dear.
