R-E-S-P-E-C-T. Maybe

March 28 is Respect Your Cat Day.

Oh, we feline fanatics respect our cats...

But do they respect US?
Hahaha!

You know that I'm just kidding, as I do not believe that cats have a mean bone in their body.

Maybe it's because they are really fur-covered liquid, but no, seriously...they just have to do what they MUST do, and humans simply have to get used to it.

Heritage

 3/25 International Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Slavery and the Transatlantic Slave Trade

Acknowledge the past.

Repair the present.

Build a future of dignity and justice.

~~~
The Abolition of the Slave Trade Act was passed in the United Kingdom on March 25, 1807.
The United Nations resolved to make March 25, 2007 an acknowledgement of the 200th anniversary of the abolishment of the enslavement trade, and then chose March 25 thereafter as a yearly remembrance of the terrible violations of human rights.
Personal Observations;
So much of the foundations of the United States government and society bear the markings of using enslaved peoples to make this country what it is today.
Watched a television program where famous people are given their family trees, and one successful man was so excited to find out about his relatives...until the researcher explained that his last name is the name of the plantation owner who paid for and enslaved his ancestors.
The blood in his veins came from people who were trafficked.
It broke that man's heart, and any who say that slavery is a thing of the past aren't aware of how damaging that history continues to affect us...ALL OF US.
There is anger.
There is pain.
And the inequality continues.
What a Character
 It's PO'Monday!
March, 2015, and Celestial Paddy O'Malley was enjoying the pale sunshine.
He did NOT like my attempt to take a pic of the neighbor's cat, however.
Paddy: "All eyes on ME, thankuverramuch!"
Of course, Pommy...of course...
Fight Club: CB versus Book
 It's difficult to read a book when Chili Bruce wants my lap!
At least CB had his purr machine running!
Foresty
"Forests, pillars of global food security and nutrition, are the livelihoods of millions of families.
They provide essential foods such as fruits, seeds, roots and wild meat, fundamental resources for indigenous and rural communities."
❤️Love to visit forests and woods!❤️
Take only pictures, leave only footprints
LAST DAY!
The Vernal Equinox occurs at 5:01 am EDT, 9:01 am GMT, 2:01 am PDT
IT'S THE LAST DAY OF WINTER!!!!
Why yes, yes I do!
Has an Ides of March vibe.
Wakie wakie wakie!
It's HERE...
SPRING!
Now, this isn't our first rodeo...we know that Old Man Winter fights back, and there may still be cold temperatures, storms, and maybe even some...*shudder*...snow.
But we can now face these trials with a 'fiddle-dee-dee' attitude, as they just won't last much longer.
Well, at least, this is how I manage to get through until I can finally put my puffer coat into the closet for six to eight months.
Detente
 It's Twozday, and there was mayhem!
And then, peace.
The fracas got really loud with hisses and screams, and they batted each other for a while, then chased across the room and under every piece of furniture...sloshing my tea...then it went quiet.
The Hubby and I picked up chunks of black fur, wiped up the spills, and when it was time for the humans to go to bed, Manny and Chili Bruce were snuggled together on the foot rest of MY chair.
We'll never know what started it; Da Boyz aren't telling.
As long as there is (mostly) peace at Eastside Cats, then all is well.
March 17, 2020: Sweetie Retired
 March 17, 2020, we trapped Sweetie and brought her inside.
Taken one year before her retirement, on March 17, 2019.
Just two days after coming inside, Sweetie seemed happy to play!
March 17 is Celestial Sweetie's Inside Gotchversary, or Retirement.
We miss her dearly.
Knowing that her last years were spent in warmth, comfort, and snuggles means the world to us, and we are offering the same to Henry, hoping that he follows in Sweetie's pawprints.
Happy St. Patrick's Day and Happy St. Gertrude's Day!
