Booky

Our friend Dai$y from earned her angel wings.

Please leave words of comfort at Trout Talkin' Tabbies.
😿

2 March is Read Across America Day; open a book and READ!
Let's Hop!

1. My favorite place to read is while sitting in the library.

The quietude is just the best place to gobble up books.

2. My favorite genre to read is British mystery, especially police procedurals.

Especially enjoy the audiobooks, narrated by delightful folks with lovely accents.

3. "The Beekeeper's Apprentice" is a book I could read over and over again.

What can I say?  I'm a Sherlockian, as The Great Detective enjoyed his retirement.

4. The book series "Dresden Files" inspired me to let my book-loving geek flag fly by joining FB groups with others who feel the same.

Am now a member of many author and book groups; it's so much fun to yammer away about our newly found favorite book, or genre, or anything Outlander, Rebecca Yarros, Tana French, Anthony Horowitz, etc.

Sweetie's Solensia shot vet visit showed that she's lost a tiny bit of weight.

We'll work hard to get her to eat up, and those shots are a huge help to her.

Flying Flippantly

Recognized on the last day of the annual Christmas Bird Count, National Bird Day is widely celebrated to raise awareness of the treatment of birds in captivity and promote the conservation of wild birds.

I love birds; love to watch them as they flit about in the trees, but am crap at identification despite the four bird books within easy reach.

Am very aware that outside cats will try to snatch birds for a meal, yet we only witnessed one bird killed by our outside cats...and that was by Celestial Paddy O'Malley.

Sweetie was an excellent mouser, by the way.

In honor of birds, here are a few joking cartoons and meme re: birds and cats.

Have already warned Trout Talkin Tabbies about today's post, as they really don't like 'burds'.

Sweetie's Last Outside Autumn - Farewell Tuna of Moon

It's Sweetnesday!

Sweetie is such a loving wee kitty, but you'd never have thought it by these photos, taken in 2019.

She seemed so standoffish, and was for years!
Sweetie hasn't yet adjusted to the later meal times; waking us early every day this week.

Yet this is a good thing, because I put in my earbuds to listen to an audiobook, and she climbs onto my chest to purr for the next hour.

I'll take naps on the weekend, because having Sweetie close enough to smooch on, pet and pat, and to play with, was once just be a dream.
 😽❤️😽

Edit!
Breaking news...Tuna of Moon has left us!

Two-zday

SURPRISE!!!
Twin peeballs!

Christmas Tree, covered in snow

Mushroom
(Actually, it looks like a mushroom cloud, such as after a nuclear bomb explosion, but that's too militarist and violent for me, even though I just finished reading a book about The Cold War.)
The three above images are in honor of Trout Talkin Tabbies Blog, who originated the litter box artwork display...

Taa Daa!
Aww, I wouldn't let a Two-zday go by without Da Boyz!
Chili on the left, Manny...with his paw on his brofur and his underwear showing...is right.

Vacation Travels: The Birds

I love cats, yet I have always been an amateur bird-watcher.  On the stay-cation part of my recent vacation, my friend BG and I traveled all over the area to observe some of Mother Nature's feathered children.

Kensington Metropark allows folks to feed the birds, so we had some sitting right on our fingertips!

Howell Nature Center helps all types of animals with rehabilitation and to teach folks about our furry, feathered and scaly friends.

Lake St. Clair Metropark (formerly Metro Beach) has an owl show, plus much more when you walk the nature center paths.

Here are a few of the photos that I snapped, and please forgive me, Trout Talkin' Tabbies for showing BASS-TERD BURDS on my post today!

Massive

For the squeamish, don't look at this peeball!
This is the biggest peeball that I've ever dug out of the litterbox!  It's massive; I even got out a ruler to measure it's size.  This was all Chucky, because I just happened to have witnessed the um, er...deposit as it was created!

Now, actually, a peeball this size is cause for concern; excessive urination can be an indicator of several issues, like kidney problems or even diabetes.  Lucky for him, we have a visit at Sheppard Alternative Animal Care on Saturday, and we will ask the veterinarian all about it.  However, it's more than likely that it's a one time behavior for my Chuck, since I scoop the boxes every day and know both his and Angel's output.  He makes a big peeball every once in awhile, but not every day. Thanks to TROUT TALKIN TABBIES for giving me the courage to take a photo of something from the litterbox!  LOL!

P.S. Please go visit Sunny at Colehaus Cats; the orange kitty is now in her furrever home!  YAY!

P.S.S. You know that I love cats, but really I love all critters.  Like this cricket that I just found in one of our Vice President's offices.  I carefully captured it, then released it back outside.  Run free, dear cricket!
Mr. Cricket, why were you inside my building?
