Imagine my excitement when the mail arrived...with this!  I LURV Quint's paintings; this is my fourth one...well, I gave #3 to my mother, whom adores it.

Look at the color!  Look at the wonderful use of Quint's paws!  He is a very talented kitty.

Taking photos on an old iPhone in overhead, florescent light does not bode well for great results, however walking all over the building while I try to find better lighting does not bode well for my job!

Massive

For the squeamish, don't look at this peeball!

This is the biggest peeball that I've ever dug out of the litterbox!  It's massive; I even got out a ruler to measure it's size.  This was all Chucky, because I just happened to have witnessed the um, er...deposit as it was created!

Now, actually, a peeball this size is cause for concern; excessive urination can be an indicator of several issues, like kidney problems or even diabetes.  Lucky for him, we have a visit at Sheppard Alternative Animal Care on Saturday, and we will ask the veterinarian all about it.  However, it's more than likely that it's a one time behavior for my Chuck, since I scoop the boxes every day and know both his and Angel's output.  He makes a big peeball every once in awhile, but not every day. Thanks to TROUT TALKIN TABBIES for giving me the courage to take a photo of something from the litterbox!  LOL!

P.S.S. You know that I love cats, but really I love all critters.  Like this cricket that I just found in one of our Vice President's offices.  I carefully captured it, then released it back outside.  Run free, dear cricket!

'Starry Night' by Quint

As a present to myself, I purchased 'Quint's Starry Night', created by Colehaus Cats.  I am a huge fan of Vincent VanGogh, who's rather famous 'Starry Night' is in every art history book, however I think Quint's art should be featured by the experts!  I adore Quint Cole's painting, and I can actually own his pieces.

I enjoy celestial viewing, often dragging The Hubby with me to watch meteor showers or lunar eclipses.  I sit on the back deck, with Patty O'Malley by my side, and stare at the stars.  So, naturally for me, an piece of original art made by a kitty, representing the night sky, was a must-have!

Thanks again to Quint and the other lovely kitties at Colehause Cats, and Carole too!  I have specific plans for framing this treasure, details to be revealed in the future.

Office Addition: Quint's Art!

Yay!  Not only do I have cat photos in cute frames in my office, now I have Quint's art hanging right where I can stare at it while sitting at my desk.

Score!

Received early Christmas presents from my co-worker, and boy, does she know what I like!  The book, "Sorry, I Barfed On Your Bed" by Jeremy Greenberg is an adorable set of essays by kitties who are trying to live a cat life in human homes.  I also received a very cool photo frame; it says, "Love My Cat"!

AND...My very own Quint painting has arrived!  Go to Colehaus Cats to see all the neato artwork that Quint creates, plus a terrific blog by the kitties mom.  I chose Quint's painting of Spring, because it's my favorite time of the year.

I am so excited to have this cat booty!  Thank you, CD for the gifts, and to Colehaus Cats for the painting!

But wait...there's more!  I purchased a big cat pillow over the weekend, and used an old box to make a new beddy for Chuck, up on the bookcase. Actually, I thought it would suit Angel's black-and-white fur perfectly, but once Chuck found it, he claimed it as his!  That old Gateway box is a hoot; cannot believe it's been kicking around the house for all these years.  We all certainly SCORED this week, with great cat stuff all around!

Squashed berries

Severed branch of the dreaded pokeweed!

The neighbors had a huge pokeweed (or pokeberry) tree-like bush growing in their garden. Pokeweed is great food for many of Mother Nature's critters, but it's highly poisonous to humans, and especially children who are drawn to it's rich, shiny berries.  The neighbor cut down this bush yesterday, and dragged it away.  However, one severed branch and many berries ended up in our yard.  I didn't worry about it, since I know Patty and Sweetie would stay away from anything that would make them sick, and yet this morning there were purple paw prints on the front porch!  I chased down Patty, who I was sure was the purple culprit, and I checked him out thoroughly to make sure he was not in danger of ingesting any of the stuff. I inspected his paws, and gave him a good snuggle to let him know I want him to take care of himself!

He appears to be fine!  Maybe Patty has a future as an artist, like Quint at Colehaus Cats!
