Remember Me Thursday #RememberMeThursday #SeeTheLight

DID YOU KNOW?

Over 1 Million pets are euthanized annually. That number has consistently decreased in the last decade.

It is proven that the more awareness we bring to orphan pets results in: 1) Adoptions Increasing, 2) Euthanasia Decreasing, and 3) Puppy Mill Sales Decreasing.

Visit Remember Me Thursday to discover events held today in your area!

Shining a light on shelter animals, who are still looking for their furrever homes.

Our stories:

Every cat at Eastside Cats was adopted!

Adopted from a home with too many kittens (Celestial Angel and Chuck), from the street and alley (Hobo, Sweetie, Sammy, and Paddy O'Malley), and from a shelter (Manny and Chili Bruce).

Having volunteered at cat adoption events, I know that not everyone is ready to invite a cat into their home, but that isn't the only way to help shelter kitties!

-Volunteer at a local shelter or humane society.

-Discuss the horrors of puppy and kitten mills with folks you know; you'd be surprised at how little information is in the general public.

-For those of us with TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return) experience, reaching out to assist folks who need help with ferals or strays, could be a life-changing experience for the cats and those who don't know what to do.

  4. We are *so* ready to adopt a pair of cats, but still uncertain how our geriatric cat Jezebel would react. ~sigh~ I keep hoping a higher power will intervene, such as how we first started caring for kitties. Be well!

  5. We've always taken the kitties and puppies that need us the most. The shelter is a wonderful place to find a precious baby to love and be loved.

Have a fabulous Thankful Thursday. ♥

And the answer to your question, Harry Potter has absolutely nothing to do with Mogwarts, it's a completely independent cat academy with no affiliation to the former whatsoever! MOL MOL Can we say Harry who? MOL MOL XOX

  12. At the shelter I volunteer with we have seen the number of cats taken in lately decrease. We're not sure if it's related to Covid or that spay/neuter and TNR efforts are paying off. We hope it's because of the latter.

  14. Rescue is my fave breed. All TW's cats have been rescues too. I'm only the second shelter cat she's had. The others were strays.
