Ready?

Some sillies for those of us who are working stiffs!
At least am working remotely, and the commute to work is simply walking upstairs.

Have appointment with my tax CPA on Tuesday, and he's gonna ask about the 'r' word.

Am slightly...no, VERY...terrified of the concept of living off our funds and stuff.

And am beyond thankful to have a good job, with health benefits.

Guess I haven't yet hit that "That's enough; I'm done!" point.

Yet, it's on the horizon, peaking over the ridge with glowing eyes locked on me.

Back to Work

Some of us are now back at work, after some much enjoyed time off for holidays: lounging around, playing with the cats, staying in your jammies all day, and perhaps enjoying some treats that may be off the dietary list during your usual routines.

Therefore, here's a few smiles to lighten your mood, whether you physically commute to the office, or just fire up the company computer at home.

As for retired folks, we know that you remember what it's like!

As Seen On The Road #2

Previous post: As Seen On The Road March 5, 2019

Snapped this image while on 14 Mile Road in Madison Heights, Michigan.

I am drawn to cat images, wherever I am.

And of course, there are tons of lions, tigers, and cheetah images everywhere.

This logistics firm's logo is probably is a stylized lion, jumping through a hoop.

Yet, the cat lover in me snapped to attention, while making my way to the office in The Cat Car II.

I hope that one day, no living lion, tiger, elephant, or any other creature has to endure training to entertain humans; it's cruel.

Thankful Thursday

I am beyond thankful today for my sister, MY.

This morning, I poured out my feelings about the swift changes in my life: job, car, Angel's health, and why winter is such a bummer!

She listened, counselled, and gave me a few "You've got this, girl!"

😽💗😽

Also, there are tangible items to be grateful for, because we currently have the means to.

An original painting, purchased at a local store on my lunch break:

I mean, how the heck could I have passed this up?
Artist: Smykman Primitives

And, a sweatshirt with Pawfficer Donut's adorable image!

If you want to order for yourself, here's the link:

From the Troy Police Department's Facebook:

"Don't Leave Me!"

As I exited the house this morning, Patty O'Malley dropped and rolled on the driveway behind The Cat Car.  Tried to get some good photos of him, because he was being cute but...

He was telling me that staying home to pet him should be my only goal in life!  Oh, baby, how I would love that life.

Happy Weekend, everybody!

Found Kitten Update

Just a quick note to tell you all that the cosmic tumblers clicked into place for the kitten yesterday, and a foster appeared as if by magic.  Consensus is that this baby is 3-1/2 to 4 weeks old, and too young to be without mama's milk.  Covered in fleas and mud, the kitten drank about three tablespoons of formula at first go.  The Hubby and I were very worried when the kitten ate no food, but neither of us have any experience with little, little kittens like this guy.  Or girl...I'm sure I'll learn a lot more soon.

I did not sleep last night, thinking of how everything transpired:

1) I drove down a road I rarely take for my morning commute
2) Had a fresh, clean carrier in the trunk
3) Had contacts around Metro Detroit that were galvanized to help out
4) The Hubby pitched in and helped me to help the kitten
5) A surprise foster appeared, when I was sure none would be found for another couple of days or even weeks

Thank you all for your good wishes; I'm sure I'll have updates on the kitten's progress!

P.S. I drove down the same street again today, with my eyes peeled for any mama cat or other kittens running around.  Saw nothing, but I'll continue to eye-ball the area at every chance I get!  Only a mile from my accident in January, and on the same road.  What is the cosmos trying to tell me?

The Move

Gratuitous Patty O'Malley photo from last month
My office moved to a new location last Friday, changing my 10-15 minute commute to 45-50 minutes.  Positive: I have my own office now, instead of a cube!  Negative: Cannot go home at lunch to visit the kitties.  So now Chuck and Angel, Patty and Sweetie will have to do with less of 1) me, and 2) no lunch snack.  Now, every one of my cats could stand to be on a bit of a diet, but I am going to miss them tremendously. And what will I do with my lunch time now?  Where will I find cats to play with?  Guess I'll have to get creative; maybe there is a cats-only veterinary nearby my new office that I can stop at and visit.  Perhaps I'll learn to take a walk and breathe in some air!  Or, I can go to the nearest library and check out the cat book selection.

Had a bad moment or two last week, when the impact of this change hit me.  And yet, my employer is growing, new things are happening, and it's exciting to be in the middle of it all.  And of course, the hubby has promised to jump in and fill up bowls with food or water if I am delayed.  Guess I'll just get extra kitty lovin' in on the weekends!  The mad weekend smooching crazy lady with cats...that's me!

P.S. At the company holiday luncheon raffle, I won a Nook!  Can't wait to figure out how to use the thing, and our local libraries have all kinds of free reading material downloads, so I won't have to spend eleventymillion dollars on new books.  Plus, the thing is a super huge camera, so let's see what kind of new cat photos I take!
