Kiss A Ginger Day

Thankful for Gingers!
Tiger was a stray.
My neighbor happily made their home hers.
She is allowed outside only when a human is watching, and as a regular sidewalk traveler, I manage to give her a pat and a smooch when possible.
Rufus lives in Detroit, Michigan.
He is VERY SHY, and seems to think that I want to eat him.
I often visit Black Cat Pottery, where Rufus lives, and if he's eating, he allows pats and smooches, and by Gum, I take advantage of that!

Of course, I'd love to be kissing these gingers:
Eric in British Columbia, Canada
Eddie in Manchester, UK
Tyger in Georgia, Asia/Europe
Mango and Rusty, Florida USA
- and -
a certain ginger-haired Scot from the "Outlander" series...sorry, couldn't pass up a chance to drool over this:

Sassy, in Florida
Skittles, in Florida
Rufus, in Detroit
Eddie, in the UK
Hearty applause for our Ginger Gang, all with smoochies on their wee noggins!

September 1: Ginger Cat Appreciation Day!

Right now, Eastside Cats has no ginger cats in residence.

Hopefully, one (or two...) will choose us someday!

However, in honor of this special day, dear friends have loaned us images of their beloved orange cats, and I have a bevy to show you!

First up: Eric and Angel Sparky (who left us in January), who live with ET in British Columbia, Canada:

The next video is Rufus, who lives in Detroit, Michigan with his cat mom CE, and the rest of his clowder:

Thankful Thurs...um, Friday: Gingers

I am thankful for my friends, who send me photos of their cats.  Love to see them!  The boys above are from P&M in Florida, and these are just two of their cat family.  Mango is fluffalicious, and Rusty is all ginger boy!  I want to reach into the photos and smooch them!  Aren't they too cute?

💕😻💗😻💕

And, we are very thankful for the well-wishes for Patty O'Malley!  Random Felines and many others suggested Veterycin spray, and I've been spritzing his wound at least twice a day, more if it is not raining buckets or the temperatures outside are too cold.  Although not pretty, the bare spot appears to be healing, or at least not infected.  I don't want to get ahead of myself, and bring bad luck.  Your prayers and warm fuzzies mean all the world to us!  Thank you.

Okay, a day late...but, we're still hopping!

These three will be seven months old on February 19.  My dear friends P&M adopted them, and are delighting in the happy group. The Cat Crew also includes Miss Sassy, who is around 2 years old, and elderly gent Spit Spot who is past 20!  Do you know what the bad thing is about all of this?  They live over 1,000 miles away!  How can I play with and love on all of these cuties?

Whitefoot

Little Whitefoot
Spent some time with Paws for the Cause Feral Cat Rescue on Sunday, for an adoption event.  The handsome boy pictured here is Whitefoot, named for the three toes on his back foot that are white.  The rest of him is beautifully grey, and he has a sweet, loving nature.  He was burying himself under the cage blanket, and the other cats simply slept through his shenanigans.  Took all of my willpower to not open that cage and hide him under my coat and walk into the sunset with him!  But I know one thing; these folks will do right by Whitefoot, and all the cats they work with.  I also witnessed Rusty, a small pale orange cat leaving for his furrever home (see his photo on my 2/16 post), and another brother and sister duo found their humans too.  Very heartwarming!

Another kitty who found a furrever home is Elliott, who joins William of Mass Destruction.  A wonderful blog that I've been reading for years; go take a look, and say hello to the two boys and their sister Caroline.

Please send some purrs to Amber and Sugar Bear; their people P and M are worried.  Relocated to Florida a few years ago, these sweet kitties are in quiet retirement.

Both are feeling unwell, so send your kind thoughts to these lovely butterscotch kitties.  Those white muzzles are just the cutest!
