Cat TV

Early November, 2008.

Celestial Angel and Chuck enjoyed lots of Cat TV, from every window possible at Eastside Cats.
Chucky enjoying the wide window ledge.
Angel has her eye on something outside!
A rare image of Angel and Chuck sitting together, watching the leaves fall.

Our first cats, and oh, we had no clue, and learned the hard way often.

An example:

Chucky started to scoot his rear-end on the floor.

I went up to the library to read every cat-owner book on the shelf, and decided that he had impacted anal glands.

At the veterinarian's office, I proudly offered my diagnosis.

The doc looked at me, and said, "He too fat; he cannot lick his butt."

Oh the embarrassment!!!
😳
We switched from dry food to canned, and both cats lost weight gradually, and all scooting stopped.

Our starter cats whom we loved dearly, the poor dears.

Noms

For Sweetnesday, here is a photo of Sweetie actually eating!

Nope, it's not a fancy, well-staged image, but the sight of it makes me happy.
Sweetie won't eat more than a few licks for days, then miraculously digs into both her wet food and the dry kibble again.

One never knows what she'll do next.

Thankfully, her weight is good, and the fretfulness of making sure she eats may be all in the mind of the food-giver.

She gets a dab of appetite stimulant once a day, rubbed into her ear.

So, let's take a look at Outside Cat Sweetie, from June 2012.

I was already in love with her back then, before she'll allow me to touch her.
Look at that face!

Henry

This two-toned kitty seems to be sticking around.

'He' hides under the neighbor's desk, drinks water from our sump pump discharge pool (gross!), but he's begun to nervously approach when I pour out kibble.
We've put out fresh water, and the squirrels and raccoons like it, but Henry still drinks from the pool.

Henry as a name came to me as I sat on the deck, talking to him as he watched me from next door.

Maybe it's because I'd recently finished two books about Kings Richard III and Henry VII, but when I mentioned that to The Hubby, he started singing an oldie song by Herman's Hermits about Henry VIII!

No one needs that ear worm...NOBODY!

So, am thankful today that I cut across his singing before that could implant into my brain.

8/19: World Photography Day

World Photography Day is an annual, worldwide celebration of the art, craft, science, and history of photogrphy.

Use #WorldPhotographyDay on your posts!

However, there are currently 57,279 pics in my photo library, so how do I choose the 'good' ones to share today?

Well, how 'bout cat teefs and bleps?!?

Oh yeah!
Celestial Chuck yawns, rather frighteningly.
Celestial Sammy bleps.
Jiminy Crickets, Sly has one BIG MOUTH!
Celestial Angel, trying to be fierce but still looks like a bunny rabbit.
Celestial Paddy O'Malley, keeps his fur in good order.
Sweetie, making her kibble opinion known!

Comfortable

It's Sweetnesday!

While Sweetie has plenty of space to roam in, she pretty much limits herself to a couple of locations.

She does NOT jump up onto my desk, so I can keep it as messy as I want.
Favorite Place #1: her special beddy area on top of our bed.
Favorite Place #2: between the water bowl, the kibble bowl, and the food bowl (out of frame).
And another smiley face, this one with eyebrows, or fringe/bangs?
Could be a beard, or a smile?

Happiness

It's Sweetnesday!

Think it's a tie as to who is happiest with Sweetie living inside; I'm over the moon, and she continues to leave smiley faces.

The "Inside Sweetie Experiment" results are fabulous.

Yes, I needed a neck-warmer...and a choke-hold.
Sweetie watches.

Action Sweetie

 It's Sweetnesday!

Sweetie and I play with the trackball toy several times a day.

And, she continues her Smiley Face kibble bowl artwork!

And More Smileys

Sweetie continues to leave smiley faces in her kibble bowl!

Anyone else have this happen?

Sweetnesday (yesterday's post) was not much about Sweetie, but she's hollering at me with wild abandon, so obviously she doesn't feel diminished by it.

We adore her, and are thankful for every day she spends with us, as the grand dame of Eastside Cats.

Got It Made...

It's Sweetnesday!

Oh, the life of a housecat!
At least she leaves me a kibble happy face!

Bowl Smiles

It's Sweetnesday!

Sweetie continues to leave smiling faces in her kibble.
I figure she is simply happy!

 This makes me happy too.

More Smiley Faces

Sweetnesday!

Sweetie leaves these smiley faces for me often.

Do you think she's trying to tell me something?

(She may take it back, should Inside PO'M invade her space!)
"Wait...what did you say?"

*whispering....
The PO'M goes to the vet in the morning...
will report as soon as I have something to report...
shhhhh....*

Meowling Sweetie

Sweetnesday!
Sweetie has something to say...
...and she keeps on saying it, even while in her hidey hole.
But no worries; she left this for me!

Almost Finished?

Sweetnesday!

Sweetie returns to the veterinarian tomorrow, and we all hope that she won't need any more antibiotic capsules!
She's keeping her eyes on me.
When Sweetie wakes me up in the middle of the night, it's because she sees critters moving around outside.
This is a rotten photo of what I saw this morning at 4 am; the groundhog and skunk have made trails for themselves from our neighbor's porch, over into our yard.
Don't think she isn't comfortable around here; she is!
And, this is what her kibble bowl looks like right now...I'm taking it as a sign that she's doing okay, despite our daily wrestling sessions when I push that capsule down her gullet.

I will report on what we learn at the vet's; I think it's time that veterinarian offices have a pub attached!

Snailed It Again, But Then...

Last week, I posted about feeding kibble to the snails on our deck; read it here.

This morning, I found a whole family of snails, and I put out sustenance for them:

"Eat up, little pals!"

Another member of the family,
crawling over to join in the feast!

"Huh?  Wait a minute...what?"

"Sorry, snails...mealtime was abruptly cut short!"

"Oh, Patty!"
The snail family was happily eating their kibble, until a VERY well-fed cat named Patty O'Malley decided that he didn't like the attention that I was bestowing on some critters other than himself, and he ATE THAT KIBBLE!
