"But is a puzzlement"
It's Twozday!
Sorry, but I cannot tell which one is which in these cuddling pics.
If we can see their tummies, then small white spot is CB, 'underwear' is Manny.
As seen from above while on the paw, pear-shape is CB, thin is Manny.
Really up close on faces, Manny has a tiny white smudge next to his nose.
Otherwise...I throw my hands in the air!
Have noticed that they aren't always the same color of black fur; can you see that right-hand cat is more brown?
Hmmmm....
P.S. Today's post title is the last line in the song "A Puzzlement" by composer Richard Rodgers and lyricist Oscar Hammerstein II, sung by the King of Siam about what he knows and does not know.

Tuxedo Cats!
29 January is Tuxedo Cat Appreciation Day, sponsored by Stunning Keisha!
We had the pleasure of caring for Celestial Sammy, an 'O' Cat.
And, if we stretch the rules of 'tuxedo', we can include our Celestial Angel.
She was more of a cow-colored kitty, but there aren't appreciation days for moo cats!
The beautiful fur markings for both Angel and Sammy will never be forgotten.

Old Man Winter
We had a substantial snowfall here on Wednesday.
Yesterday, I was able to check out the 'hood.
Black cat on the sidewalk ahead. This is a stray who gets food and water at a neighbor's house, and sleeps in the garage. |
The snow stuck to everything, making pretty patterns. |
Snapped while on my rounds. |
I dislike missing my walks, but I wasn't going to trudge through a blizzard!
More wintry weather is ahead, yet I have stacks of books to read, plenty of blankets to curl up in while I invite a cat or two to snuggle.
With a few hours of snow shoveling for exercise.
Reminds me of the old days, when 'O' Cats roamed!

Cat Daddies
Had the extreme pleasure of enjoying "Cat Daddies" documentary, at Cinema Detroit.
The film, directed by Mye Hoan, introduces nine cat dads who come from all walks of life – a firefighter, a truck driver, a Hollywood stuntman, an ad executive turned cat rescuer, a police officer, a software engineer, an actor/Instagram influencer, a school teacher, and an undocumented and disabled immigrant living on the streets of New York City.
I've grabbed a few images from the Cat Daddies website:

A wonderful film; I recommend it!
It's playing all over, and more theatres in new locations are added often.

Yummy Tummy and Flirt
It's Twozday!
Manny and Chili Bruce continue to spend a fair amount of time napping with each other, and in these pics, we can tell them apart!
Chili Bruce with tummy up (barely a white spot) |
Manny's 'underwear' large white spot is easily seen here. |
We are so sad that Emmy at 15andmeowing left us yesterday:
Leave kind words at 15andmeowing |
And it's the anniversary of Celestial Angel's departure too, three years ago.

January, 2015
It's PO'Monday!
January 2015 was a very cold, very snowy time.
Always anxious about our 'O' Cats, we'd provided them with an insulated shelter full of straw AND a heaty pad, plenty of fresh water, and lots of kibble, because wet food froze very quickly; too rapid for Sweetie and Celestial Paddy to get their fill of it.
Paddy, despite the challenges, still gave me plenty of lovin'!
The Hubby had created a wind-break out of plexiglas, for The Cat Hotel. |
Always hugging my Pommy! |
I didn't shovel the driveway or sidewalks; I just shoveled walking paths for The 'O' Cats. My priorities were purrfect. *wink* |

National Popcorn Day
19 January is National Popcorn Day!
If you think I like cats, you should see me around a bowl of freshly popped popcorn!
Hint: you'd better get your hand out of there, or risk injury...
Enjoy some silly stuff that I've found on social media, included here only for the entertainment of our readers:

Celestial Angel, angling at my popcorn in December, 2015. |

What Is That Thing?
There was a bright orb in the sky!
We humans were afraid for awhile, but The Eastside Cats knew what to do.
They basked in the sunshine.

Michigan tends to be overcast and grey in Wintertime, due to temperature inversion.
From late-fall through winter, the sun is lower in the sky, striking the ground at a smaller angle and producing less heat. The longer nights and shorter days cause the air to be colder. As the coldest air settles to the ground, a layer of warmer air above remains stable. Normally the atmosphere cools as you gain altitude but in a temperature inversion, it actually warms. Clouds which form near this layer tend to be stratiform or more horizontally spread out and long-lasting.
Now you know why we were afraid; it's not normal!
