September 29 is Maneki Neko Day in Japan.
The beckoning cat figurine or statue is considered to be a talisman of good luck.
The date itself is a clever wordplay – "9" (ku) and "2" (fu) can be read as "kuru fuku," meaning "come, good fortune."
While visiting the Feline Historical Museum in Alliance, Ohio in 2019, there was a display of unique and beautiful Maneki Neko.
That is a great collection, and so much good luck. Any home or business with a feline is, we think, doubly blessed. Have a wonderful week.

I'm trying to convince my husband to take me to the museum in the next few weeks. It will be before really cold weather gets here for sure. Thanks for the pictures and the idea.
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a great museum to visit.
ReplyDeleteI have the pink, the black and the white cats...not as big as these, but ~~~ !!! ♥♥ awesome post -^,,^=
ReplyDeleteWhat a pawsome place.
ReplyDeleteI like the little mouse sitting with the central cat figure. I hope he's all right...
ReplyDeleteThat's a whole bunch of good kitty luck in that display. We have some maneki neko here at our place. :)
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a fun museum.
ReplyDeleteI agree, that is a fun collection. I have one of those special kitties here too.
ReplyDeleteI have a Maneki Neko!
ReplyDeleteI want to visit this museum. Unfortunately, it's a 79 hour walk. lol Seriously, somehow it was set on pedestrian; the distance is over three and a half hours, though, still further than I can get my husband to travel. I'm considering solo trips. ~sigh~ Be well, my dear.
